When you need dinner on the table fast, spicy garlic shrimp is the answer. This dish comes together in under 15 minutes with just a handful of ingredients, yet it’s packed with bold, vibrant flavor. Plump, juicy shrimp are sautéed in a buttery garlic sauce with a kick of red pepper flakes, brightened with fresh lemon juice, and finished with parsley.

It’s the perfect meal for busy weeknights, yet elegant enough for company. Serve it over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread to soak up every last drop of that irresistible garlic butter sauce.

Instructions

1

Prepare the Shrimp

Pat the shrimp completely dry with paper towels. Season lightly with salt and pepper. This ensures proper searing and prevents the shrimp from steaming in the pan.

2

Sear the Shrimp

Heat a large skillet or cast iron pan over medium-high heat. Add 1 tablespoon of butter and the olive oil. Once the butter melts, add the shrimp in a single layer.

Cook undisturbed for 1 to 2 minutes until the bottoms are pink and lightly golden. Flip and cook for another 1 to 2 minutes until the shrimp are pink, opaque, and curled into a loose “C” shape. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

3

Make the Garlic Butter Sauce

Reduce heat to medium. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter to the skillet. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes.

Cook for 30 to 60 seconds until fragrant—do not let the garlic brown. If using wine or broth, pour it in and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Simmer for 1 to 2 minutes until slightly reduced.

4

Finish the Sauce

Remove the skillet from the heat. Stir in the fresh lemon juice and chopped parsley. Add the cooked shrimp back to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce.

5

Serve

Transfer to a serving bowl or plate. Garnish with additional parsley and serve immediately with lemon wedges.

This Spicy Garlic Shrimp is a quick, flavorful, and satisfying meal that’s perfect for any night of the week.
